This privacy policy of Clausthal University of Technology refers to the Alumni Portal available at www.tu-clausthal.de/alumni. The service provider is TU Clausthal.
For unrestricted use of the portal, registration as a member (alumni) is required. All former and current students, lecturers, employees and exchange students of Clausthal University of Technology have access. Access authorization is checked by the university's central alumni office.
Mandatory data, without which registration is not possible, are
Surname, first name, date of birth, street, house number, place of residence, zip code, country, e-mail address, details of subject/degree program and period of study or, in the case of employees, the period of employment and name of the institute or department.
Additional information is voluntary. The personal details that are stored in the current version of the alumni database are Surname, maiden name, first name, date of birth, address, e-mail addresses, telephone and fax numbers, company details, field of study, marital status, nationality, matriculation number, student data, details of any alumni activities or other memberships.
With the "activation code", which alumni receive when registering in the Alumni Portal, and via a freely selected personal password after activation by the Alumni Management, you can independently view and maintain the current status of your personal data in the database. You decide which data you want to publish in the portal and whether you want to make it available for other users to contact you. Alumni of TU Clausthal who are registered in the university's alumni database can contact other members.
Clausthal University of Technology's Alumni Management assures alumni that their data will be treated confidentially and will not be passed on to third parties without their consent. It uses the data exclusively for graduate and alumni support, including alumni work in the institutes and faculties.
You can revoke your consent in writing at any time with effect for the future and request the deletion of the data. Withdrawal of consent to the collection, processing and use of mandatory data leads to the blocking and deletion of the alumni profile. With the deletion of the alumni profile, all personal data will also be deleted.
The legal basis for the collection, processing and use of personal data by Clausthal University of Technology is provided by §11 of the Regulations for the Collection and Processing of Personal Data of Applicants, Students, Examination Candidates, Guest Auditors and Former University Members of Clausthal University of Technology dated December 1, 2009 and in conjunction with §17 of the Lower Saxony Higher Education Act (NHG) as amended on February 26, 2007 (Nds. GVBl. p. 69).
