Prof. Dr.-Ing. Dr. habil. Dr. h.c. Peter E. Halbach

Prof. Dr.-Ing. Dr. habil. Dr. h.c. Peter E. Halbach studied mining and geology at Clausthal University of Technology and taught as a professor at his alma mater following his habilitation. As Dean of Geosciences, he guided the fortunes of his department for several years. In 1992, he was appointed Professor of Raw Materials Geology and Marine Geochemistry at the FU Berlin. He is a recognized expert in the field of marine mineral deposits and marine geochemistry. As a cruise and project leader, he has accompanied over 15 marine expeditions, which have taken him to the Pacific, Atlantic, Indian and Mediterranean Oceans.
