At Clausthal University of Technology, successful alumni work and effective networking has always been carried out in the institutes, student clubs and associations and through the Friends' Association. These activities need to be bundled, supported and further expanded.
Alumni are ambassadors for their university and promote the reputation of the institution in the public eye. The university is interested in seeing what has become of its graduates and would like to maintain contact with its alumni.
The university's own alumni management is the central, independent, cross-faculty and cross-disciplinary coordination office for alumni work at Clausthal University of Technology. It initiates new activities, projects and alumni events and implements these in cooperation with internal and external stakeholders at the university. Alumni Management also sees itself as an alumni service and contact point for the university's alumni.
To enable graduates of Clausthal University of Technology to network with each other across disciplines, a central office is needed to collect and maintain alumni contact data(registration form) and provide a platform for direct exchange: the Alumni Portal. It is a platform for direct exchange between alumni. It is reserved exclusively for TU Clausthal alumni. In order to actively participate in the benefits, they must log in to the portal and register. When registering, users can decide for themselves which data should be published and thus be visible to other alumni. This data is maintained and kept up to date by the alumni themselves. The portal is used by our alumni to maintain contacts (What are my fellow students doing today?) and to make contact with each other (I am looking for an expert in ... or a tennis partner...). It also helps the university to maintain contact with graduates and alumni. The portal is currently being expanded.

- To promote active exchange between alumni/former students and the university for mutual benefit and to ensure the continued successful development of Clausthal University of Technology.

Networking
In the coming years, alumni management at Clausthal University of Technology will become even more professional. In order to achieve this goal, Clausthal University of Technology has become a member of alumni-clubs.net e.V., the association of alumni organizations in German-speaking countries, to which over 230 universities and alumni organizations currently belong. The association, which is recognized as a non-profit organization, advises and supports universities in expanding their alumni work. It offers further training and conferences on alumni-related topics and intensively promotes networking and the exchange of experience between alumni organizations. Alumni-clubs.net e.V. participates in scientific work and research in the alumni sector and also conducts its own analyses and studies.
